The Detroit chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is calling for entries for the Excellence in Media awards. We are also accepting nominations for Journalist of the Year and Young Journalist of the Year, as well as applications for a Laurain Scholarship.
SPJ Detroit is presenting awards for outstanding journalism in Michigan Detroit publications, broadcast, digital and social media during 2020.
The contest opens on January 8, 2021. The deadline is Friday, February 19, 2021 for all journalism entries. The deadline for JoY, YJoY and Scholarships is February 26.
Winners will be announced in late April or early May 2021.
