| The Detroit chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists is calling for entries for the Excellence in Media awards. We are also accepting nominations for Journalist of the Year and Young Journalist of the Year, as well as applications for a Laurain Scholarship. SPJ Detroit is presenting awards for outstanding journalism in Michigan Detroit publications, broadcast, digital and social media during 2021. The contest opens on January 13, 2022. The deadline is Monday, February 21, 2022 for all journalism entries. The deadline for JoY, YJoY and Scholarships is February 28. Winners will be announced in late April or early May 2021.
