DATA REPORTER
The Detroit News seeks an enterprising data reporter to join its dedicated team of investigative reporters. The selected candidate will be expected to generate compelling enterprise stories that delve into critical issues through the data-mining lens relevant to our Michigan readership. This journalist will oversee the collection and analysis of data as well as assist others on staff in developing computer-assisted reporting strategies and visualizations for their reports. MICHIGAN STATE BEAT REPORTER
The Detroit News is seeking a sports reporter to cover Michigan State University athletics, with a focus on football and a national powerhouse in men’s basketball. We’re not looking for a reporter just to cover games and tell readers who won and who lost. We’re also looking for a reporter who can break news and develop stories that go beyond box scores and cover the ever-changing landscape of college athletics.
