SPJ Detroit partnered with the New York & Michigan Solutions Journalism Collaborative to present a virtual conversation with investigative journalist Kat Stafford, who spent a year examining the health inequities Black Americans face at every stage of life.
Stafford discussed her recent five-part, award-winning series for AP, “From Birth to Death.” She also talked about how journalists should approach covering stories on issues related to race, as well as answering audience questions.
Stafford is a member of the SPJ Detroit board.
