‘CALL FOR SCHOLARSHIP ENTRIES’

Detroit SPJ is accepting entries and nominations for its 2026 Larry Laurain Scholarship program. Winners will be announced at the organization’s annual banquet honoring the outstanding work and achievements in 2025 of print, radio, television, photo, digital and other practicing journalists in Michigan. In addition, Detroit SPJ will announce its Journalist of the Year and Young Journalist of the Year.
SPJ Detroit annually awards grants up to $2,500 to Michigan residents who are or will be a sophomore, junior or senior at a college or university with a demonstrated interest in journalism attending a college or university. This award may be used at any institution of higher education.
Winners in all categories and scholarship winners will be honored at our annual awards banquet on Wednesday, May 20, at the San Marino Club, 1685 E. Big Beaver Rd, Troy
