Anna Clark is an investigative reporter with ProPublica, focusing on stories rooted in Michigan and the Midwest. She’s the author of “The Poisoned City: Flint’s Water and the American Urban Tragedy” and editor of “A Detroit Anthology.” As a longtime self-supporting freelance reporter, she wrote for the Columbia Journalism Review, the New York Times, the Washington Post, Elle, Politico, the Detroit Free Press, Bridge, Next City, Belt Magazine, and other publications. Briana Rice is Michigan Public’s criminal justice reporter. She’s focused on what Detroiters need to feel safe and whether they’re getting it. She was named 2022’s Young Journalist of the Year by the Detroit Society of Professional Journalists. She’s also been selected for fellowships with the National Press Foundation and the Association of Independents in Radio. Briana was previously a breaking news reporter at the Cincinnati Enquirer. Before that, she worked at WXIX in Cincinnati as a digital producer and assignment editor. (see profile)
Kennan Oliphant is Vice President of News and Station Manager, CBS Detroit. Kennan is not just responsible for setting the news strategy but also has oversight of CBS Detroit station operations. Prior to joining CBS, he was the Senior Director of News for WXYZ/ WMYD in Southfield, Michigan where he was responsible for every newsroom function, including developing strategic plans for its on-air, online and social media products. Before Kennan’s tenure as Senior Director of News, he was the assistant news director for WXYZ/WMYD for two years. Kennan also worked as the Senior Manager of Broadcast for WCPO 9 On Your Side in Cincinnati, Ohio. (see profile)
